On March 10, three groups of Make Music Chicago 2011 musicians performed at Whole Foods Market in the Gold Coast. The event raised awareness of the festival and many audience members signed up to play or volunteer this year. A Neighborhood Captain is responsible for the production planning of Make Music Chicago events on June 21 in one Chicago neighborhood or business district.

Here’s why we want YOU and your neighborhood to participate:

 1. Forge new friendships with business owners and leaders in your community as you find the best places to host performances and coordinate logistics for music day-of

2. Serve as an ambassador for your ‘hood by drawing in audiences from across the city (and tourists from all over the world!)

3. Expand your musical horizons as you enjoy listening to talented musicians from all genres at each of your neighborhood’s performance sites on Thursday, June 21

Last year, 35 sites took part in Make Music Chicago. This year, more than 50 sites have already registered and sign-ups are still open!
