June 21: Bring Your Family to Make Music Together!

Kids and families will have a special role in Chicago’s Make Music Chicago, June 21. Little ones of all ages can join music-makers worldwide on this day via Make Music Chicago’s Family Concert. Bring the kids! Hear great music-making by Family Concert sensations Quintet Attacca, students from Music Institute of Chicago’s Suzuki program, and watch your little ones make their own music with Concordia University’s Musikgarten program.

  • Where: St. James Cathedral, corner of Wabash and Huron
  • When: 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. during Make Music Chicago on June 21st
  • Why: to join millions of people making music in 460 cities around the world
  • What: A family-friendly program in three parts:


    1. “Where in the World is Quintet Attacca?”, a musically-interactive detective story, led by Chicago’s renowned Family Concert woodwind quintet, Quintet Attacca





2. Suzuki Performance by students from Music Institute of Chicago

     

     

    3. Music-making by you and your kids with Musikgarten of Concordia University. Be prepared to sing, dance, stomp, and fly with your kids!

    Bring your oatmeal tins and shoeboxes to make your own instruments!

Do I need to sign up?

• We encourage you to register as a Family Concert attendee by clicking here. It would be helpful to us to get an idea of how many we might expect to come. However, if you forget to sign up, we won’t stop you from coming!

What do I need to bring?

• Your kids, and, for the Musikgarten portion, anything that can be made into an instrument: Oatmeal tins, shoeboxes, etc.
• Your cameras – to record the priceless memories!
